USA: Elton John wants Pope Francis canonized
“Make him a saint already, okay?” British singer Elton John, openly homosexual, told guests at his annual AIDS fundraiser with regard to the Sovereign Pontiff on October 28th, in New York.
According to an Associated Press release dated October 29th, 2014, the artist claimed the Pope was “pushing the boundaries” of the Church. To applause from the guests, Elton John said, “'Ten years ago one of the biggest obstacles in the fight against AIDS was the Catholic Church. Today we have a pope that speaks out about it.”
The singer went on to assure the audience that the Pontiff is “'a compassionate, loving man who wants everybody to be included in the love of God… It is formidable what he is trying to do against many, many people in the church that oppose [him]. He is courageous and he is fearless, and that's what we need in the world today.”
